The Indian Hills Community College athletic department has recognized Antonio Williams (Men's Basketball) and Tyarra English-Paulson (Women’s Track and Field) as December’s student-athletes of the month. This accolade honors student-athletes who have demonstrated outstanding work in their respective sport and in the classroom.
Williams, a sophomore guard from Chicago, Illinois, had a stellar month of December for the Warrior basketball team. Williams and the number three nationally ranked Warriors took the court eight times in December, including a trip to Mesa, Arizona where they were crowned the Fiesta Bowl Junior College Shootout Champions. The six-foot wrecking ball also known as “Booman,” lead the Warriors to an 8-0 record in December, averaging a whopping 15.6 points, 4.0 rebounds, 5.1 assists, and 1.1 steals per game while shooting 56.8% from the field. "Booman has been the heart and soul of our team during our recent run," said head coach Hank Plona." Williams’ short stature is quickly made up by the amount of energy he brings to the court. Plona was quick to emphasize his drive, saying “He plays as hard as any player I’ve coached and is willing to do whatever it takes to help us win. We expect him to continue to be one of the best players in the country for the rest of the year.” Williams is an arts and sciences student at Indian Hills, carrying a 3.0 GPA. Booman and his teammates enter 2018 with an unblemished 16-0 record.
