HUEBNER'S GEM LEADS WARRIORS TO SERIES WIN

Centerville, IA – The Indian Hills Baseball team defeated Des Moines Area Community College 10-0 in seven innings Sunday afternoon to take the three-game Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) series two games to one. The Warriors move to 18-17 overall on the year and 12-6 in league play.

Indian Hills saw a complete game in all facets on Sunday as the Warrior offense backed a dominant effort on the mound from sophomore Cole Huebner (__) while the defense did not commit an error on the day. Indian Hills jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the opening inning and never looked back, recording the team's fourth shutout of the year.

With the series win over the Bears, Indian Hills moves into a half game back of Iowa Western Community College in the ICCAC Division I Baseball standings. The Reivers took two of three games from Southeastern Community College over the weekend to move to 13-6 in the conference standings.

Huebner was impressive from start to finish on Sunday, going the distance with seven shutout innings. The sophomore tied a career-high with 10 strikeouts to surpass 100-career strikeouts for his career at Indian Hills. Huebner scattered seven hits on the day and did not issue a walk.

Kevin Ramos (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic/Springfield Commonwealth) provided an early spark for the Warriors with a three-run home run in the bottom half of the first inning, the freshman's league-leading eighth home run of the year.

With Huebner in control, the Warriors added to the lead in the fourth with a two-run double from AJ Marchetti (Wheeling, IL/Wheeling). Zachari Pace (Colorado Springs, CO/Vista Ridge) added a run-scoring single in the fifth before tacking on an RBI double in the seventh. In total, the Warriors plated four runs in the seventh to complete the run-rule shortened victory.

Five of the team's final seven runs on the day came with two outs.

Sophomore Cale Clark (Marionville, MO/Marionville), the reigning ICCAC Athlete of the Week, continued a torrid stretch of play, going 3-5 at the plate with an RBI. On a six-game hitting streak, Clark finished the three-game series with the Bears going 7-12 at the plate with four runs scored.

Pace, who provided the heroics in game two on Saturday, finished the finale with two hits and is now batting .419 over his last nine games with six extra base hits, 14 RBI, and 15 runs scored.

The Warriors are back in action Wednesday afternoon at Pat Daugherty Field with an ICCAC doubleheader against Marshalltown Community College. First pitch is set for 1:00 PM.
