Centerville, IA – Sophomore pitcher Anton Keith (Boulder, CO/Fairview) of the Indian Hills Baseball squad has been named the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) DI Baseball Pitcher of the Week, announced by the league office on Tuesday.
Keith provided a masterful performance on the mound for the Warriors, leading the squad to a 6-5 victory on the road at Southeast Community College (NE) in Beatrice, NE on Saturday. With the win, the Warriors moved to 11-8 overall on the year.
Trailing by three runs early on in the ballgame, Keith took over in relief and provided five dominant innings of shutout work for the Warriors. The sophomore allowed just one baserunner, a long base hit, while striking out five. Keith also induced a pair of double play balls to allow the Warriors to rally for the win.
On the year, Keith boasts a 1-0 record with a team-high three saves on the mound in 12.2 innings of relief work.
The Warriors are back in action March 21-22 for a four-game series at historic Pat Daugherty Field in Centerville, IA against Northeast Iowa Community College. First pitch on March 21 is set for 1:00 PM.
