CHANG, DONNELLY SWEEP ICCAC WEEKLY HONORS

Centerville, IA – Sophomores Callum Donnelly (Bulli, Australia/New Mexico JC) and Yuan-Kai Chang (Taipei, Taiwan/Taipei Dai) of the Indian Hills Baseball squad have swept the weekly Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) DI Baseball Athlete of the Week honors, announced Tuesday afternoon by the league office.

The duo have helped power the Warriors to a season-long nine game win streak, including four consecutive ICCAC victories on the diamond last week. For their efforts, Donnelly has been named the ICCAC DI Baseball Offensive Player of the Week while Chang has been tapped as the ICCAC DI Baseball Pitcher of the Week.

The Warriors' top offensive threat this season, Donnelly lands his first weekly accolade after an impressive stretch at the plate. The sophomore, who has hit safely in nine of the team's last 10 games, batted .500 during the team's four wins last week while adding two home runs, eight RBI, five runs scored, and three stolen bases.

Donnelly, who has managed to reach base in all 25 games he has appeared in this season, went 3-4 in the team's series opener against Southwestern Community College before tacking on two more hits in game two and three more in the fourth game.

On the year, Donnelly is batting a team-high .424 at the plate to go along with seven home runs and 28 RBI.

Chang continued his impressive stretch to open the year, collecting his sixth victory of the season on the mound with a complete game win vs. Southwestern in game three. Chang led the Warriors to a 6-1 victory after tossing 7.0 innings with just one run allowed while scattering four hits. The sophomore struck out seven batters, his sixth consecutive appearance with at least six strikeouts in a game.

Chang, who boasts a 6-1 overall record in 38.2 innings of work this season, is one of just two pitchers in the nation with at least 44 strikeouts and less than five walks on the year.

Indian Hills is back in action Tuesday afternoon with an ICCAC doubleheader vs. No. 9 nationally ranked Iowa Western Community College at Pat Daugherty Field. First pitch is set for 12:00 PM.
