Ottumwa, IA – Sophomore Trenton Walters (Frisco, TX/Radford) of the No. 3 nationally ranked Indian Hills Men's Basketball team has been tapped as this week's Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) DI Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week.
Walters becomes the eighth different member of the Warriors to earn ICCAC Athlete of the Week honors this year after a standout performance in the team's lone contest last week. Walters helped lead Indian Hills to an 81-57 victory over ICCAC foe Southeastern Community College at the Hellyer Center on Saturday night.
Walters poured in 14 points against Southeastern on 5-6 shooting, including 4-5 from three-point range. The sophomore guard connected on his first four three-point shots of the night to put the game out of reach early on. Walters added three points and three assists in the victory.
Over his last three outings, Walters is averaging 14.7 points per game on 72.2 percent shooting and 68.8 percent from three-point range.
Indian Hills returns to action Friday night at the Hellyer Center with a 7:00 PM matchup vs. Central Nebraska Community College (9-10).
