Ottumwa, IA – Sophomore Quinton Perkins II (Dallas, TX/Tarleton State) of the No. 3 nationally ranked Indian Hills Men's Basketball squad has been tapped as this week's Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) DI Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week, announced by the conference office Tuesday afternoon.
Perkins powered the Warriors to an 89-71 win over Central Community College (NE) at the Hellyer Center on Friday night. Perkins put up an impressive stat line that filled the box score, finishing the night with 23 points, six assists, and five rebounds, all season-high totals. Perkins also added three blocks and a pair of steals for the Warriors.
Offensively, Perkins went 8-9 from the floor while shooting 5-6 from three-point range and 2-2 from the free throw line to finish with a remarkable slash of 88.9/83.3/100.0.
Perkins becomes just the second player for the Warriors in the last 10 seasons to record at least 23 points, six assists, and five rebounds in a single game, joining Curtis Jones (2020-21) and Antonio Williams (2017-18), but the first with multiple steals and multiple blocks in the same game.
Perkins becomes the ninth different Indian Hills Men's Basketball player to earn ICCAC Athlete of the Week honors this season.
The Warriors are back in action Tuesday night with a nonconference road trip to Highland Community College (IL) in Freeport, IL. Tune in live on GoHillsTV as the Warriors and Cougars tip-off at 7:00 PM.
