NJCAA DI MEN'S BASKETBALL POLL - PRESEASON
Ottumwa, IA – The Indian Hills Men's Basketball squad will open the new year ranked No. 13 in the nation with the release of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) DI Men's Basketball Preseason Poll on Monday afternoon.
Coming off the program's 20th all-time trip to the national tournament a year ago, the Warriors earned 190 points in the preseason poll from the voting committee. The Warriors are the top-ranked team from the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) as league foe Southeastern Community College checked into the 'Receiving Votes' category in the poll.
Under the direction of second-year head coach Cole Dewey, the Warriors return four members of last year's NJCAA North Central District and NJCAA Region 11 Championship squads in Mason Costello (Waukee, IA/Waukee), Javeyn Martin (Anderson, SC/T.L. Hanna), Ater Manyuon (Austin, MN/We Are United Prep), and Vladyslav Semerych (Horishni Plavni, Ukraine/Cherkassy).
The Warriors wrapped up the 2024-25 campaign with a 27-6 overall record, including a 4-0 mark in the ICCAC. This year's schedule features seven contests vs. teams in the national rankings, including a trip to No. 10 Snow College (UT), a home-and-home with No. 11 Triton College (IL), and a date with No. 20 John A. Logan College (IL) at the Hellyer Center.
Trinity Valley Community College (TX), the defending NJCAA DI Men's Basketball National Champions earned the No. 1 spot in the preseason poll followed by South Plains College (TX), Daytona State College (FL), Vincennes University (IN), and Connors State College (OK).
The Warriors are set to open up the 2025 campaign with the Meridian Credit Union Classic at the Hellyer Center October 31-November 1. Indian Hills will take on Pratt Community College (KS) at 7:00 PM October 31 with a 3:30 PM matchup vs. Cloud County Community College (KS) on November 1.
The Warriors wrap up their preseason slate this Thursday, October 23 with a trip to William Penn University at 6:00 PM.
