NO. 11 WARRIORS SUFFER FIRST LOSS AT SNOW

Ephraim, UT – No. 11 ranked Indian Hills Men's Basketballs suffered its first defeat of the year on Saturday afternoon, dropping an 80-71 matchup to No. 9 nationally ranked Snow College (UT). The Warriors fall to 6-1 overall on the year.

Competing on the final day of the Snow Classic, the Warriors led by as many as nine in the opening half, but the host Badgers surged in the second half to pull away for the victory. Snow moves to 7-0 on the year.

Redshirt freshman Sawyer Mayhugh (Weston, MA/Queens) tallied a team-high 18 points off the bench for the Warriors, going 6-7 from the floor, including 2-2 from three-point range. Sophomore Taj Au-Duke (Toronto, Canada/Pepperdine) added 16 points and led the Warriors with five rebounds and four assists in the loss. Mason Costello (Waukee, IA/Waukee) added 11 points while sophomore Chiang Ring (Minneapolis, MN/Murray State) chipped in 10 for the Warriors.

Indian Hills put up a valiant effort on the road, shooting 42.4 percent from the floor as a team while committing just eight turnovers. The Warriors saw 31 points from its bench production.

Snow jumped out to a quick 6-2 lead over the Warriors, but Indian Hills responded with an 18-5 run, sparked by seven points from Au-Duke. The Badgers stayed within close distance of the Warriors and eventually regained the lead, taking a 39-35 advantage at the halftime break.

The Warriors kept things tight to open the second half, staying within two possessions through the opening 10 minutes of the frame. Snow eventually pulled away, building a double-digit lead in the closing minutes to knock off the Warriors for the second consecutive season.

Indian Hills' road swing continues with a trip to McCook, NE to take on McCook Community College (NE) at 7:00 PM on Friday, November 21.
