The 9-1 Indian Hills Warriors, ranked No. 9 in the latest NJCAA DI Men's Basketball Poll, will entertain Marshalltown, Lake Region State, and North Dakota State College of Science in the team's final home classic of the year, a two-day, four-game event sponsored by Norris Asphalt Paving Co.
STARTING FIVE
- The Warriors are coming off an 87-79 victory over John Wood Community College (IL) at the Hellyer Center Wednesday night. Sophomore Ater Manyuon (Austin, MN/We Are United Prep) led the way with a team-high 18 points.

- Indian Hills has seen key production from its bench play, averaging 36.3 points through 10 games from its reserves.
- The Warriors have won 17 consecutive home games. Indian Hills is 632-82 (.885) all-time at the Hellyer Center.
- Indian Hills will be playing a team from its fifth different state this week as both opponents hail from the state of North Dakota.
- Sophomore Chiang Ring collected his second ICCAC Athlete of the Week honor after posting a double-double last week vs. Lincoln Trail.

SCOUTING THE ROYALS
Lake Region State travels to Ottumwa for the second consecutive year and fourth time in five seasons.
- Lake Region State heads into the weekend with a 7-5 overall record, having dropped three straight after previously winning six consecutive matchups.
- Alvin Payne leads four players in double-figures with a team-high 13.3 PPG.
- Sophomore Akok Ajou leads the Royals with 7.6 rebounds per game to go along with 13.2 points per contest.
- Lake Region State has scored at least 100 points in a game five times this year, but have been outscored by an average of 19.6 points per game in its five losses.
- Indian Hills is 11-0 all-time vs. the Royals with all 11 matchups in Iowa, including 10 at the Hellyer Center. The two sides first met in the season opener in 1990 and most recently squared off December 15, 2024, a 77-66 win for the Warriors at Cardinal High School in Eldon, IA.
- The Royals return five players from last year's squad that went 16-16, including four players that played against Indian Hills in last year's contest.
- The Royals are under the direction of 10th year head coach Jared Marshall.
- Lake Region State will take on Marshalltown in the opening game of the final day of the Norris Asphalt Classic at 1:00 PM on Saturday.
SCOUTING THE WILDCATS
A perennial NJCAA North Central District contender, North Dakota State College of Science returns to the Hellyer Center for the first time since March 16, 2024, and fifth time since 2014.
- The Wildcats head to Ottumwa with a 9-1 overall record, having won nine consecutive matchups after dropping its season opener, a 74-68 loss to Williston State College (ND).
- Sophomore Cham Oakey leads the Wildcats with 19.4 points per game and 8.9 rebounds per contest.
- Sophomore Jikany Deang ranks second on the team with 16.4 points per game and 8.2 rebounds per contest.
- The Wildcats have reached at least 100 points in a game six times this season and are averaging 100.4 points through 10 games.
- Saturday's matchup will be the first meeting between the two programs that does not have a NJCAA District Championship on the line. The Warriors are 6-1 all-time vs. the Wildcats, having won the last three contests. Indian Hills is 4-1 all-time vs. the Wildcats at the Hellyer Center.
- NDSCS is under the direction of first-year head coach and former Wildcat Gach Gach who played at the Hellyer Center during the team's 2016 NJCAA North Central District Championship win over the Warriors.
- NDSCS is coming off a 14-17 overall record from a year ago.
- NDSCS will match up with Marshalltown in the opening game of the Norris Asphalt Classic at 4:30 PM Friday night.
ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT - CURTIS JONES
Former Indian Hills and Iowa State standout Curtis Jones, now a member of the Denver Nuggets, scored his first official points in the NBA with a bucket Wednesday night against the Indianapolis Pacers. Jones, who starred for the Warriors in 2020-21, put together a decorated collegiate career that included stops at the University of Buffalo and Iowa State University. Jones inked a deal with the Nuggets as an undrafted free agent following the 2025 draft and has appeared in two games this season.

Indian Hills' homestand will continue with a home date vs. McCook Community College (NE) at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, December 10. The Warriors previously defeated the Indians 88-73 in McCook on November 21.
