Ottumwa, IA – No. 9 Indian Hills Men's Basketball put together its most complete performance of the year with a dominant 125-67 win over Lake Region State College (ND) on the opening night of the Norris Asphalt Classic. The Warriors move to 10-1 overall on the year.
Indian Hills produced its highest offensive total of the year with 125 points, and the most since scoring 130 points on December 1, 2024 as the Warriors ran past the Royals at the Hellyer Center. Indian Hills remains unbeaten on its home court this season and have won four consecutive contests.
Sophomore Mason Costello (Waukee, IA/Waukee) put together an offensive clinic from beyond the arc, tying a school record with nine three-point shots made. Costello tallied a career-high 27 points on the night, connecting on 9-15 from three-point range. The sophomore added five rebounds, four assists, and two steals in the win.

Sawyer Mayhugh (Weston, MA/Queens) was a force in the paint for the Warriors, collecting a double-double with 16 points and a game-high 14 rebounds. Sophomore Ater Manyuon (Austin, MN/We Are United Prep) scored 10 points in each half to finish with 20 points on the night while KJ LaMonte (Davenport, IA/New Mexico Highlands) added 15 points and a team-high six assists. Sophomore Vladyslav Semerych (Horishni Plavni, Ukraine/Cherkassy) chipped in 12 points off the bench followed by 10 points apiece from Taj Au-Duke (Toronto, Canada/Pepperdine) and Javeyn Martin (Anderson, SC/.L. Hanna).
Freshman Xavier Wilson (Kansas City, MO/Stanley) filled the stat sheet for the Warriors with 10 rebounds, seven points on 3-5 shooting while adding three assists and a pair of blocked shots.
As a team, the Warriors produced its second consecutive efficient shooting performance, going 49-86 (57.0 percent) from the floor while connecting on a season-high 15 three-point shots. Indian Hills outrebounded the Royals 58-32, the team's largest rebounding margin of the year. The Warriors also dished out a season-high 24 assists while committing just 10 turnovers.
Despite an early lead from the Royals in the opening half, Indian Hills controlled the opening frame to run past Lake Region State for the second consecutive year. Costello ignited the offense with five consecutive three-point shots in the span of 3:02. The spark put Indian Hills ahead by double-digits and built a 57-32 lead at the halftime break.
Costello connected on two more three-point shots to open the second frame as the Warriors continued to run away with the affair. All nine players that saw game action on Friday scored at least six points in the second half alone as Indian Hills took home the victory.
Costello's single game mark of nine three-point shots ties former Warriors Eddiean Tirado (2021) and Taj Anderson (2022).
Indian Hills is back in action Saturday afternoon for the final day of the Norris Asphalt Classic. The Warriors will take on North Dakota State College of Science at 3:30 PM. The Wildcats defeated Marshalltown Community College at the Hellyer Center to open the night Friday with a 90-58 victory. Marshalltown and Lake Region State will square off at 1:00 PM on Saturday.
