COSTELLO HITS MILESTONE, WARRIORS DROP CAVS AT HOME

Ottumwa, IA – No. 8 ranked Indian Hills Men's Basketball ran its winning streak to eight consecutive games with an 85-60 victory over Kankakee Community College (IL) at the Hellyer Center on Wednesday night. The Warriors improve to 20-2 overall on the year.

The Warriors reach 20 victories in a season for the 21st consecutive year and 34th time in the last 36 seasons. The win also kept the Warriors' home winning streak alive at 22 contests dating back to last season. The 22-game home winning streak is the longest since the program won 25 straight from 2019-2021.

Five players reached in double-figures in the win Wednesday night, including 13 from sophomore Mason Costello (Waukee, IA/Waukee) who reached 100 career three-point shots for the Warriors. Costello knocked down three triples on the night and becomes the eighth Warrior in the last 15 seasons to surpass 100-career three-point shots made in their Indian Hills career.

Sophomore Taj Au-Duke (Toronto, Canada/Pepperdine) led the charge with 20 points, the guard's third 20-point effort in the team's last five matchups. Au-Duke added five rebounds, four assists, and a pair of steals in the win.

Sophomore Chiang Ring (Minneapolis, MN/Murray State) posted his fourth double-double of the year with 14 points and a team-high 11 rebounds. Over his last three contests, Ring is now averaging 11.7 rebounds per game. Ring added a season-high five blocked shots for the Warriors.

Freshman Xavier Wilson (Kansas City, MO/Staley) recorded his second double-double of the year with 10 points and 10 rebounds on the night.

Sophomore KJ LaMonte (Davenport, IA/New Mexico Highlands) chipped in 10 points in the win, going 6-6 from the free throw line, extending his season free throw percentage to 86.0 percent, tops in the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC).

As a team, the Warriors held the Cavaliers to just 22.2 percent from three-point range on the night. Indian Hills controlled the rebounding battle 51-36 while dominating the paint with a 42-24 scoring advantage.
