Ottumwa, IA – For the 18th consecutive season, the Indian Hills Men's Basketball squad clinched at least a share of the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) regular season title as the No. 5 ranked Warriors dropped visiting Southeastern Community College 72-66 at the Hellyer Center on Saturday night.
The Warriors clinched the outright title for the 2025-26 season by improving to 3-0 in league play this year, securing the Warriors' fourth-straight outright regular season championship. With the win, Indian Hills improves to 24-2 overall on the year and have now won 12 consecutive contests. The Warriors also remain unbeaten at the Hellyer Center with a 15-0 mark on the year.
Indian Hills used a strong opening half to take a commanding lead over Southeastern before the Blackhawks rallied late in the second half. Southeastern led by as many as six in the final frame before a late surge from the Warriors rallied the home team to victory. Freshman Xavier Wilson (Kansas City, MO/Staley) scored or assisted on 10 of the team's final 15 points as the Warriors dropped the Blackhawks for the eighth consecutive contest.
Sophomore KJ LaMonte (Davenport, IA/New Mexico Highlands) scored a game-high 18 points for the Warriors, going 11-12 from the free throw line. LaMonte added a game-high seven assists to go along with five rebounds and three steals to fill the stat sheet.
Wilson provided an all-around solid performance, tallying 10 points go along with six rebounds and five assists. Sophomores Taj Au-Duke (Toronto, Canada/Pepperdine) and Chaz Watson (Kansas City, MO/Cleveland State) dropped 11 points each while sophomore Mason Costello (Waukee, IA/Waukee) added 10 points and five rebounds.
As a team, the Warriors assisted on 17 of their 21 field goals on the night, the team's fourth consecutive game assisting on at least 65.0 percent of its field goals.
The Warriors' homestand continues with a matchup vs. Mineral Area College (MO) at 7:00 PM Wednesday night inside the Hellyer Center.
