Dixon, IL – No. 3 ranked Indian Hills Men's Basketball extended its winning streak to 14 contests with a dominant 92-67 win at Sauk Valley Community College (IL) on Saturday. The Warriors move to 26-2 overall on the year.
Indian Hills capped its season sweep of the Skyhawks, winning the two matchups by an average of 28.0 points per game, including its 108-77 victory at the Hellyer Center on January 31. The Warriors improve to 9-1 all-time vs. Sauk Valley.
Indian Hills relied on the strong shooting of sophomore Chaz Watson (Kansas City, MO/Cleveland State) in the opening frame to pull away from the Skyhawks. Watson connected on four consecutive three-point shots to open the night and finished the first half with 14 points to give the Warriors a 47-32 edge. Indian Hills evaded a late push from the Skyhawks and ran away down the stretch to pick up the win.
Watson finished the night with 20 points while connecting on five three-point shots. Freshman Xavier Wilson (Kansas City, MO/Staley tallied 17 points for the Warriors. Mason Costello (Waukee, IA/Waukee) and Taj Au-Duke (Toronto, Canada/Pepperdine) added 11 and 10 points, respectively.
Next up for the Warriors is the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) regular season finale against Marshalltown Community College at 7:00 PM on February 24.
