Former Warrior Pennington Named an All-American

Ottumwa -- Ex-Indian Hills softball star Hiliary Pennington ended her two-year career at Luther College by being named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-American third team. Pennington earlier in the postseason was named to the NFCA all-Midwest Region first team following a senior season in which she hit .459. The fleet-footed outfielder also led the Norse in runs with 47 and stole a team-high 16 bases.

A Carlisle High School product, Pennington was first-team all-region for two years with Indian Hills and posted batting averages of .379 as a freshman and .378 as a sophomore. She was also named an Academic All-American after her second year at IHCC.

In her first year at Luther, in 2014, Pennington started 22 games in center field before her season was cut short because of an injury. Her abbreviated campaign included a .475 batting average and a team-best 12 steals.
