Ottumwa, IA – Madi Huisman (Ankeny, IA/Ankeny Centennial) of the Indian Hills Softball team has been named the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) DI Pitcher of the Week for the second time this season.

Huisman highlighted a four-game series sweep of Southeastern Community College as the sophomore went 2-0 in the circle. The right-handed hurler worked 13 innings without allowing a run to the Blackhawks. Huisman struck out 10 batters while allowing seven hits in the pair of victories.

On Saturday, Huisman led the Warriors to a thrilling extra-inning 1-0 victory in Burlington. Huisman struck out seven batters as Indian Hills needed nine innings to take down Southeastern. The sophomore tossed the longest game of her Warrior career to blank the Blackhawks.

Huisman won her eighth consecutive decision on Sunday in a 15-0 win over the Blackhawks. Huisman worked four innings while allowing just three hits. The four scoreless innings was the seventh time this year Huisman did not allow a run while pitching at least three innings in a contest.

After a complete game victory on Tuesday over Kirkwood Community College, Huisman now sits as 12-2 overall with a 1.16 earned run average, the 14th best mark in the nation this year.
