Ottumwa, IA – The fifth annual Indian Hills Baseball and Wrestling Mats & Bats Banquet is set for Thursday, October 9 at The Majestic Theater in Centerville, IA.
The annual event serves as an opportunity to highlight the accomplishments of the Indian Hills Baseball and Men's and Women's Wrestling programs while connecting with the student-athletes as they prepare to enter a new season of competition in Centerville. This year's banquet will be headlined by former Indian Hills Softball Head Coach and current Drake University Softball Head Coach Lindsay Diehl as the keynote speaker.
The men's and women's wrestling programs cemented one of the most remarkable seasons in National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) history during the 2025-26 season as the Warriors swept the NJCAA National Championships. Under the direction of head coach Cole Spree, the Warrior men captured the program's first-ever national title while first-year head coach Darren Wynn guided the Warrior women to their fifth consecutive national title.
The Indian Hills Baseball team is under the direction of first-yer head coach Dru Sebastian who was tapped to lead the program in July. The Warriors are coming off a trip to the NJCAA Region 11 Championship series.
Diehl brought the Indian Hills Softball program to national prominence during her five-year run in Ottumwa. The Warriors amassed 186 wins and a .762 winning percentage under Diehl while capturing four NJCAA Region 11 Championships, two NJCAA District titles, and a pair of trips to the NJCAA World Series. One of the most respected coaches throughout collegiate softball, Diehl was named head coach at Drake in 2023 and is set to begin her third season at the helm of the Bulldogs.
