Ottumwa, IA – The Indian Hills Men's Golf team earned a No. 7 national ranking in the first National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) DI Coaches Poll, announced by the committee on Tuesday.
The Warriors opened up the season with an impressive second-place finish at the Blue River Classic Sept. 8-9. Freshman Damian Osner (George, South Africa/Glendwood House) powered the Warriors with the top individual performance at the tournament to claim medalist honors.
The fall season is in full swing for the Warriors as the team is currently competing at the John A. Logan Invitational in Marion, IL. Through the first 18 holes on Monday afternoon, the Warriors led the field by 24 strokes at an even par 281. Frank Vucic (Adelaide, Australia/Seaford Secondary College) sat second overall with a 3-under 139 on the day. Indian Hills wraps up play at the Kokopelli Golf Club on Tuesday.
Indian Hills is the second-highest ranked Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) program behind No. 4 Iowa Western Community College.
The Warriors are also ranked No. 7 in the Bushnell/Golfweek NJCAA Division I Coaches' Poll, announced on Sept. 17 after earning 19 points from the voting committee. Hutchinson Community College (KS) is the top-ranked team in both polls.
