MCARDLE LEADS WARRIORS AT BUTLER SPRING INVITE

Indianapolis, IN – The No. 1 nationally ranked Indian Hills Men's Golf team took home a third-place finish at the Don Benbow Butler Spring Invitational at the Highland Golf and Country Club. The Warriors, competing as the lone junior college program, fired a 1-under, 839.

Indian Hills put together one of its strongest showings of the year competing against NCAA DI programs in the 12-team field. The Warriors finished behind host Butler University and Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville. The Warriors fired round scores of 275-280-284-839 to finish one stroke below par and collect the program's fifth top-three team finish of the year.

Indian Hills, ranked No. 1 in the nation in both the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) and Clippd Powered by Scoreboard rankings, was led by Harry McArdle (Burren, Ireland/St. Colman's College) who fired a 5-under, 205 to place fourth overall, the freshman's best showing of the year. McArdle opened the event with back-to-back sub-70 rounds of 66 and 68 before closing out the week with a 71.

McArdle's opening round 66 was the third-lowest mark of the two-day tournament after boasting five birdies through the first 18 rounds of play. McArdle, ranked No. 17 in the nation, posted the third-most birdies among the 96 competitors in 13.

Sophomore Roman Roth (Wayland, IA/Washington) posted one of his top showings of his Indian Hills career after placing 15th overall with a 1-over, 211. Roth used a 4-under, 66 in Round 2 to ascend up the leaderboard for the Warriors.

Newcomer Freddie Surgey (Weybridge, England/Cobham Free School), competing in his second collegiate event, tied for 16th overall with a 2-over, 212.

Sophomores Jedd Thomas (Sydney, Australia/St. Paul's Catholic) and Nathan Pouchoulon (Aix-en-Provence, France/Lycée Georges Duby), this week's Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) DI Men's Golf Athlete of the Week, tied for 38th overall for the Warriors with a 7-over, 217.

The Warriors have competed in the Butler Spring Invitational in each of the last four seasons and the 2026 event marked the program's strongest showing. Indian Hills shaved off 26 strokes from its performance at last year's event.

Indian Hills will now have a quick turnaround with the upcoming Western Illinois Intercollegiate at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, IL. Action gets underway April 2.
