TEEING OFF

After a dominant run through the 2023-24 regular season campaign, the defending national champions are set for postseason competition with the 2024 NJCAA DI Men's Golf Central District Championship.

  • The Warriors, who captured their seventh national title in program history last year, enter postseason ranked No. 4 in the nation and No. 1 in both the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) and the NJCAA Central District.
  • Indian Hills boasts seven individuals in the top-70 of the national rankings, including four in the top-30, led by the top-ranked golfer in the NJCAA Gaspar Glaudas.
  • Glaudas, who has racked up prestigious honors throughout the year, leads the national rankings by more than 30.0 weighted points.
  • Sophomore Jose Carletta heads into postseason competition as the reigning ICCAC Athlete of the Week.
  • Indian Hills has seen its team stroke average drop by a sizable margin from the fall to spring season, averaging 283.5 shots per round through four tournaments this spring, more than eight strokes ahead of the fall average.
  • The Warriors have posted a top-10 finish in all nine events this year, including four consecutive top-3 finishes and the team title at the Western Illinois Intercollegiate.

WARRIORS AT DISTRICTS

One of the premiere junior college golf programs in the country, the Warriors will head into postseason with 12 District titles in school history, all since 2004, to go along with the seven national championships.

  • The Warriors will be looking for their first District title since 2019 where the program won 10 consecutive District championships.
  • Indian Hills placed second overall at last year's tournament in Wichita, KS before making its remarkable run to the national title.
  • Gaspar Glaudas led the Warriors at last year's District Championship with a fourth-place showing at Crestview Country Club.
  • The Warriors have earned three consecutive top-three finishes, placing third in 2022 and second in 2021.

"We are excited to get the postseason underway," stated head coach Michael Wetrich. "The guys have been working hard all spring and have been looking forward to our District Championship all season long. We're looking orward to a fun couple of days in Kansas City."

SCOUTING THE COURSE

Since opening in 1999, Tiffany Greens has been ranked one of the top courses in the state and has hosted the Champions Tour TD Waterhouse Championship. Tiffany Greens is a par 72 Golf course designed by Robert Trent Jones II International.

SCOUTING THE FIELD

Indian Hills wil be joined by fellow ICCAC member Iowa Western Commuity College in the NJCAA Central District Championship along with seven schools from NJCAA Region 6 (Kansas) and NJCAA Region 16's Crowder.

  • Hutchinson enters the tournament ranked right behind Indian Hills at No. 5 in the Scoreboard by Clippd rankings.
  • Dodge City (9), Iowa Western (14), and Barton (20) round out the top-five nationally ranked teams in this year's field.
  • Behind Glaudas' No. 1 national rank, Thanaphon Suwannaprathe of Dodge City is the next highest ranked individual at No. 7
  • In total, seven individuals in this year's field are ranked in the top-20 in the nation.
  • Indian Hills and Hutchinson are the only two teams in this year's field to have won national titles - seven for Indian Hills and two for Hutchinson (2022, 2021)

With a top-four finish, the Warriors will advance to the upcoming NJCAA National Championship in Hobbs, NM May 14-17. The seven-time and defending national champions will look to secure an automatic bid.
