TEEING OFF

Fresh off a NJCAA Central District Championship, the Indian Hills Men's Golf team heads to Hobbs as the defending NJCAA National Champions.

  • The Warriors claimed the District title by finishing at even par at Tiffany Greens Golf Club in Kansas City to earn the automatic bid to nationals, winning by 17 strokes.
  • Sophomore Jose Carletta, the individual District champion, was named the ICCAC DI Men's Golfer of the Week for the second consecutive week.
  • Sophomore Gaspar Glaudas held on to the No. 1 spot in the individual national rankings, leading by more than 30.0 average weighted points.
  • Glaudas was tapped as the April NJCAA SwingU Men's College Golfer of the Month, the third time in his career he was received the honor.
  • Sophomore Jose Miguel Ramirez returns as the defending national champion after becoming the second freshman in school history to earn medalist honors at the National Championship last year.
  • The Warriors are ranked No. 3 in the final NJCAA Scoreboard Powered by Clippd national rankings.

WARRIORS AT NATIONALS

One of the premiere junior college golf programs of all time, the Warriors are set to make their 37th consecutive trip to the national tournament, and 20th straight at the NJCAA DI level.

  • The Warriors made a historic run to the 2023 national title last year to claim the program's seventh all-time national championship.
  • Along with the seven national titles, the Warriors have posted four runner-up finishes and 24 top-five efforts.
  • Indian Hills has claimed six individual national champions, including last year's medalist Jose Miguel Ramirez as the Warriors earned both the team and individual title for the first time in school history.
  • 2024 marks the second NJCAA national championship in New Mexico of all-time, joining the 2006 site at the Links at Sierra Blanca in Ruidoso, NM where Indian Hills Hall of Famer Brad Smith took home the individual title with a record-breaking performance.

SCOUTING THE COURSE

The Warriors will head back to Rockwind Community Golf Course for the second time this season after competing at the NJCAA National Preview in October.

  • Opened in 2015 and designed by Andy Staples, Rockwind Community Links is a 27-hole facility with a championship 18-hole course along with a 9-hole par-3 course, a dual ended pratice range, and multiplle short game areas.
  • Ranked as the No. 2 golf course in New Mexico i Golf Digest's 40th annual Best in State course rankings (2023).
  • Top-five New Golf Development in the World by Golf Inc. Magazine.

SCOUTING THE FIELD

The 20-team field features five NJCAA District Champions and 15 at-large selections from across the nation.

  • The Warriors will be joined by fellow Central District teams Dodge City (KS), Hutchinson (KS), Iowa Western, and Barton (KS).
  • Odessa (South Central), Central Alabama (Southeast), Eastern Arizona (West), and Eastern Wyoming (Plains) are the four additional District champions.
  • Four programs, along with Indian Hills, head to Hobbs with previous National Championships to their name - Hutchinson, Midland, Odessa, and Central Alabama.
  • Odessa headlined the final NJCAA National Rankings followed by Midland, Indian Hills, New Mexico, and Hutchinson to round out the top-five.
