WARRIORS SURGE ON FINAL DAY TO CAPTURE TITLE

Pierson, MI – The No. 3 nationally ranked Indian Hills Men's Golf squad staged an epic comeback on the final day of competition to capture the team title at the WT Pilgrim's Run Invitational at the Pilgrim's Run Golf Club on Tuesday. The Warriors took top honors with a five-stroke victory.

Trailing by 18 strokes heading into the final day of action on Tuesday, the Warriors surged through the final 18 holes to upend host West Texas A&M University. Indian Hills fired a 6-under, 286 to finish the tournament with a 10-over, 886. The Warriors' 6-under was the lowest round of the tournament and were the only program to finish under par during the third round finale.

"It was a great way to start the fall season," stated head coach Michael Wetrich. "Pilgrim's Run was a beautiful golf course with lots of character. Very proud of the comeback today and the way the boys kept playing and competing the entire event, even when things weren't going our way in round two. We're looking forward to our next challenge in a few weeks at Glen Oaks Golf Course."

Indian Hills used a series of dominant individual performances as the Warriors placed three in the top-four finishers. Sophomore All-American Charlie Preston (Hampshire, United Kingdom/The Sixth Form College Farnborough), competing as an individual, placed second overall for the Warriors with a 1-under, 218 after a solid 2-under on the final day. Sophomore Nathan Pouchoulon's (Aix-en-Provence, France/Lycée Georges Duby) consistent presence throughout the tournament paid off after finishing in a tie for third with an even par, 219.

In his collegiate debut, freshman Miles Bollinger (Eagan, MN/Cretin-Derham Hall) strung together the most impressive round of any individual in the tournament with a remarkable 5-under, 214 on Tuesday. Bollinger climbed 19 spots to finish in a tie for third with Pouchoulon.

Freshman Harry McArdle (Burren, Ireland/St. Colman's College) tied for 12th overall after firing a 6-under, including his top performance in round three with an even par to aid in the Warriors' comeback. Freshman Nathan White (Canberra, Australia/Lake Ginnindarra Secondary College) rounded out the team scoring with a 17th place finish for the Warriors.

Preston, who capped a strong freshman season with an All-American performance at the 2025 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) DI Men's Golf National Championship, picked up where he left off by firing 13 birdies throughout the week, including seven on the final day of competition. Preston birdied the Par 4, 358-yard hole No. 18 in each round.

Pouchoulon tallied nine birdies while Bollinger posted a team-high 16 birdies. The freshman's final round featured seven birdies to just two bogeys, firing a 6-under over his final 17 holes on Tuesday.

As a program, the Warriors have now won their first tournament of the fall season in three of the last four seasons, including back-to-back years.

The Warriors return to action September 22-23 with the annual Zach Johnson Invitational at Glen Oaks Golf Course in Des Moines, IA.
