Newton, KS – The No. 4 nationally ranked Indian Hills Men's Golf team placed 1th overall at the 2025 Grier Jones Shocker Invitational at Sand Creek Station Golf Course. The Warriors finished the three-day event with a 16-over, 880.
Sophomore Charlie Preston (Hampshire, United Kingdom/The Sixth Form College Farnborough) led the way for the Warriors, tying for 14th place overall with an even round score of 216 overall. Preston posted round scores of 74 and 72 before firing a tournament-low 70 to finish round three at 2-under. Preston has now led the Warriors in two of the team's first three events of the regular season.
As part of Preston's final round 70, the sophomore fired four birdies to close out the final day under par. Preston led all individuals with a total of 44 pars over the course of the 54-ohle event.
Freshman Harry McArdle (Burren, Ireland/St. Colman's College) followed up tied for 22nd overall in the 104-player field. After posting a 76 in the opening round, McArdle finished strong with a second round 73 before closing out the event with Indian Hills' lowest round of the week with a 69. The freshman carded eight birdies in round three to finish the event with 13, tied for sixth-most at the tournament.
Freshman Nathan White (Canberra, Australia/Lake Ginnindarra Secondary College) finished the week at 7-over to finish in a tie for 52nd overall while sophomore Nathan Pouchoulon (Aix-en-Provence, France/Lycée Georges Duby) tied for 55th overall with an 8-over, 224.
In addition to the Warriors' performance, four former alumni competed in the event for tournament host Wichita State University. Former All-American Emilio Arellano Lamas (2023-25) tied for fifth overall at the event while former national champion Jose Miguel Ramirez (2022-24) tied for 14th overall. Alums Jose Carletta (2024-25) and Mitchell Revie (2021-23), a member of the 2023 national championship squad, competed for the Shockers.
