Ottumwa, IA – Sophomore Charlie Preston (Hampshire, United Kingdom/The Sixth Form College Farnborough) of the No. 4 nationally ranked Indian Hills Men's Golf squad has been named the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Athlete of the Week after leading the Warriors at the Grier Jones Shocker Invitational.
Preston lands his third-career ICCAC Athlete of the Week honor, and second of the year after earning the top individual finish for the Warriors last week in Newton, KS. Preston produced an even-par, 216 to finish tied for 14th overall at Sand Creek Station Golf Course. Preston fired round scores of 74-72-70-216 to pace the Warriors.
Preston has now led the Warriors in two of the team's first three events of the regular season.
In addition to Preston's performance last week, the sophomore helped guide the Warriors to the team title at Tuesday's Friends University Falcon Cup Classic at Auburn Hills Golf Course in Wichita, KS. The sophomore has earned three top-10 finishes on the year.
