Ottumwa, IA – Miles Bollinger (Eagan, MN/Cretin-Derham Hall) of the No. 1 ranked Indian Hills Men's Golf team has been named the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) DI Men's Golf Athlete of the Week, announced Tuesday afternoon.
Bollinger led the top-ranked Warriors to an emphatic team title at the Western Illinois Intercollegiate at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, IL last week. Bollinger took home medalist honors after firing a tournament-best 6-under, 207 to sit atop the leaderboard. The victory was Bollinger's first-career collegiate victory and fourth top-10 finish of the year.
The freshman posted a dominant showing at TPC Deere Run, firing round scores of 72-68-67-207 to finish two strokes ahead of the second-place finisher for the title. Bollinger finished with a tournament-best 5-under par on all Par 5 holes while posting 13 total birdies, third-most in the 49-player field.
As a team, the Warriors captured their third consecutive Western Illinois Intercollegiate title after finishing with a 12-under 840, 32 strokes ahead of the runner-up, the University of Northern Iowa.
Bollinger has now captured two ICCAC Athlete of the Week honors after previously earning the award in September.
