BUSHNELL/GOLFWEEK NJCAA DI COACHES POLL - APRIL 17
Ottumwa, IA – For the third consecutive week, the Indian Hills Men's Golf squad is ranked No. 1 in the Bushnell/Golfweek National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) DI Coaches Poll, announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) on Friday. The Warriors received five first-place votes and 80 points in total.
The Warriors have posted three consecutive top-three team finishes in NCAA DI events, including a victory at the Western Illinois Intercollegiate, winning the event by 32 strokes. The Warriors also took third overall at the Don Benbow Butler Spring Invitational in Indianapolis, IN and a runner-up showing at the Wright State Invitational in Springboro, OH.
On the year, Indian Hills has now posted four team tournament victories and seven top-three showings overall.
The Warriors' depth on the course has been evident with five different individuals topping the leaderboard for Indian Hills through the team's last five outings. Sophomore Roman Roth (Wayland, IA/Washington) led the charge at the Wright State Invitational while Miles Bollinger (Eagan, MN/Cretin-Derham Hall) captured the individual title at the Western Illinois Intercollegiate.
The Warriors will now turn their attention to postseason play with the NJCAA Central District Championship at River Cut Golf Course in Springfield, MO. The two-day, three-round national qualifier gets underway April 27.
