Ottumwa, IA – The No. 3 ranked Indian Hills Men's Basketball squad is set to host the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region 11 Championship game Saturday night at the Hellyer Center as the Warriors play host to Southeastern Community College.

For the eighth consecutive season, Indian Hills and Southeastern will square off for a berth in the NJCAA North Central District Championship.

  • Indian Hills claimed its 19th regular season title, including a share of 17 straight titles by going undefeated in the regular season.
  • The Warriors' regular season title secured the rights to host this year's NJCAA Region 11 Championship at the Hellyer Center.
  • Southeastern went 2-2 in the regular season ICCAC standings this year and earned the No. 2 overall seed in the tournament.
  • The Blackhawks defeated No. 3 seed Marshalltown Community College 78-73 Wednesday night to advance to Saturday night's tilt with the Warriors.
  • Indian Hills enters Saturday night's matchup with a 28-2 overall record and ranked No. 2 in the final NJCAA DI Men's Basketball Poll.

POSTSEASON HISTORY

Indian Hills and Southeastern will be meeting in the NJCAA Region 11 Championship game for the eighth consecutive year

  • 12 of the past 13 NJCAA Region 11 titles have been won by these two teams, with Indian Hills taking 10 titles and the Blackhawks the remaining two.
  • The Warriors have won back-to-back postseason tournaments over the Blackhawks, including a 72-56 triumph last season.
  • The two teams have met 21 times for the NJCAA Region 11 Championship since 1992 with the Warriors holding a 12-9 advantage.
  • Indian Hills and Southeastern have squared off a total of 43 times in postseason action with the Warriors holding a 23-20 edge.
  • Since 2003, the two programs have combined for 19 titles, including 13 for the Warriors.
  • The two historic NJCAA programs have combined for 39 trips to the NJCAA National Tournament (21 for Indian Hills and 18 for Southeastern). Both teams have captured three NJCAA National Championships and one NJCAA National Runner-Up finish apiece.

SCOUTING THE BLACKHAWKS

Southeastern heads to the Hellyer Center for the second time this season with a 17-12 overall mark.

  • Freshman Jaleel Donley leads the offense with 11.9 points per game followed by Prophet Fields at 10.1 points a ballgame.
  • The Blackhawks are just 3-7 in true road games this season.
  • Southeastern has lost three of its last five, with its two wins coming against conference foe Marshalltown.

WHAT'S NEXT

With a win, the Warriors will advance to the 2026 NJCAA North Central District Championship. This year's District championship will be hosted by the winner of Saturday night's contest between Indian Hills and Southeastern on Saturday, March 14. With a loss, the Warriors will await an at-large bid to the NJCAA DI Men's Basketball National Tournament. This year's NJCAA Selection Show is set for Sunday, March 16 at 7:00 PM CST via the NJCAA Network.
