WARRIORS TAKE THIRD AT WILLIAM PENN INVITE

Oskaloosa, IA – The Indian Hills Shotgun Sports squad produced a solid outing over the weekend, competing at the William Penn Invitational at the Mahaska County Izaak Walton League. The Warriors took third place in the High Overall (HOA).

The Warriors, who have opened up the 2025-26 campaign with three consecutive trap dual victories, made its season debut in sporting clays and skeet, along with trap action in the two-day shoot hosted by William Penn University. Indian Hills totaled 1,326/1,500 total targets to place third overall while the Warriors took second overall in sporting clays ((383/500) while taking third overall in the trap shoot (464/500) and skeet (479/500).

"Overall a successful weekend," stated head coach Jake Stalzer. "It was great being able to compete in skeet and sporting clays for the first time this fall.  The athletes all enjoyed the experience and are looking forward to the matchup on Friday to decide the conference trap champions at Hawkeye."

Freshman Holly Boeke (Oskaloosa, IA/Oskaloosa), this week's Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Athlete of the Week, took top honors in the ladies skeet with an impressive 99/100 targets. Boeke placed third overall in the women's HOA division with 264 total targets, just five targets outside of the top spot.

Fellow freshman Megan Vos (Oskaloosa, IA/Oskaloosa) captured first place overall in the ladies sporting clays discipline. Vos led the field of 15 competitors with 84 targets while Boeke placed second overall with 82 targets. Vos ended the shoot with 256 total targets to place eighth overall in the HOA.

On the men's side, freshman Greyson Siegfried (Burlington, IA/Burlington) paced the Warriors with a 13th place finish, posting an overall score of 264. Siegfried starred in trap for the Warriors, leading the way with 95 targets. Fellow freshman Barrett Carman (Albia, IA/Albia) placed 17th overall on the men's HOA leaderboard with 261 targets followed by sophomore Jason Stursma (Harvey, IA/Pella) in 32nd place.

Next up for the Warriors is a trip to Waterloo, IA to take on Hawkeye Community College in an Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) East Division Trap dual. A win for the Warriors would secure the outright ICCAC East Division Trap championship for the Warriors.
