Oskaloosa, IA – The Indian Hills Shotgun Sports squad put together a strong showing at the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) East Division Skeet & Sporting Clay shootout on Saturday. The Warriors placed first overall in sporting clays and tied for first overall in skeet.
Competing against ICCAC East Division foes Hawkeye Community College and Southeastern Community College, the Warriors topped both league members with 263 sporting clays targets. Hawkeye finished right behind the Warriors with 257 targets followed by Southeastern with 184.
Indian Hills and Hawkeye tied for first overall with 287 skeet targets, but the eventual tiebreaker via fourth-place individual finish went to Hawkeye. Southeastern closed out the day with 227 skeet targets.
On the ladies side, sophomore Emma Adams (Oskaloosa, IA/Oskaloosa) took home top honors in sporting clays with 91 targets while teammate Megan Vos (Oskaloosa, IA/Oskaloosa) placed second overall with 88 targets. Freshman Greyson Siegfried (Burlington, IA/Burlington) placed third overall on the men's side with 84 total targets.
Vos and teammate Holly Boeke (Oskaloosa, IA/Oskaloosa) starred in the skeet shoot for the Warriors as the duo combined to each connect on 97 targets. Vos outlasted Boeke in the shoot-off to earn first-place overall while Boeke claimed second-place on the podium for the Warriors.
Next up for Indian HIlls is the ICCAC / SCTP State Chamionships October 17-19 at the Stockdale Gun Club in Ackley, IA.
