Gallatin, TN – The Indian Hills Softball squad is set to hit the road once again as the Warriors head south to Tennessee and Alabama for eight games over the next five days.

LEADING OFF
Indian Hills returns to action after a nine-day hiatus following the team's trip to Texas and Oklahoma where the Warriors opened up the year with a 2-6 overall mark.
- The Warriors secured two key wins on their final day in Texas, including a victory over No. 4 McLennan Community College (TX).
- In the team's two wins, the Warriors outscored their opponents 16-6 while batting .322 as a team.
- Freshman Madisyn Buysse leads the offense with a .407 batting average and a team-high 11 hits this year.
- Sophomore Maggie Grant has earned both wins in the circle for the Warriors on the year.
- The Warriors rank second in the ICCAC with 38 walks at the plate this season.
- On the year, nine different players have collected at least five hits through the team's first eight games.
- When the Warriors return to Ottumwa following their southern trip, the team will have amassed 3,408 roundtrip miles through its opening 16 contests.
SCOUTING THE PIONEERS
Volunteer State, who capped the 2025 season ranked No. 19 in the country, is off to a 6-2 start on the year.
- The Pioneers have won five straight heading into Wednesday's matchup, outscoring their opponents 46-3.
- Six players are batting at least .350 at the plate this year for the Pioneers, led by sophomore Kileigh Irwin's .458 clip.
- Volunteer State is 4-0 on its home field this year with sweeps over Danville Area Community College (IL) and Patrick & Henry Community College (VA).
- Volunteer State owns a 2-0 record against the Warriors dating back to 2011, a doubleheader sweep in Gallatin, TN on February 21, 2024.
- The Pioneers are led by head coach Christian Lynn in his third season at the helm.
- Indian Hills and Volunteer State will also meet up at the JUCO Extravaganza in Oxford at 2:00 PM on Saturday.
SCOUTING THE JUCO EXTRAVAGANZA
Indian Hills will be making the trek to Oxford, AL for the premiere early-season tune-up at the NJCAA World Series host site for the fourth consecutive season.
- The Warriors are 6-10 all-time at the annual event dating back to the 2023 season.
- Indian Hills will open up against NJCAA DII No. 4 ranked Jones on Friday.
- The Warriors will be matching up with Jones for the first time in program history.
- The Bobcats are off to a 10-2 start on the year.
- Indian Hills will wrap up play Friday against Shelton State, a team that is 2-0 vs. the Warriors all-time with wins in 2017 and 2013.
- Shelton State boasts an overall record of 5-3 through the early portion of the season.
- For the third straight year, Indian Hills will match up with Snead State at the JUCO Extravaganza. The two sides have split the previous meetings with Indian Hills earning a 1-0 win in 2024.
- Snead State is off to a 1-9 start on the year.
- Indian Hills will match up with Lake Land, a team that won 45 contests a year ago, on the final day of action Sunday.
- The Warriors swept the only previous meeting between the two clubs with two wins in 2018.
- Indian Hills will conclude play in Alabama against Lake County, the first all-time meeting between the two sides.
- Lake County will be making its season debut in Oxford, AL.
