EAST NAMED ICCAC WRESTLER OF THE WEEK

Centerville, IA – Sophomore Al-American Jaquan East (Kokomo, IN/Kokomo) of the No. 2 Indian Hills Men's Wrestling squad has been named the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Men's Wrestling Athlete of the Week, announced by the conference office on Tuesday.

East picked up a pair of impressive wins on the mat last week in two separate weight classes to power the national ranked Warriors. East, ranked No. 4 in the nation in the 174lb weight class, sits at 8-1 overall on the year.

In the ICCAC opener against No. 7 North Iowa Area Community College on Wednesday night, East secured an 18-3 tech fall against the Trojans' Jonathan Krogman. East's victory helped the Warriors surge past NIACC for a 29-14 conference dual win.

East, an All-American for the Warriors at last year's national championship, upped his performance on Friday night with a career-performance on the mat. Wrestling up to 184lbs, East took down No. 2 nationally ranked Noah-Poe Hatten of No. 1 North Idaho College in front of the Warriors' home crowd. East secured a 7-4 decision for the signature win.

Indian Hills returns to action Wednesday night as the Warriors travel to Council Bluffs, IA to take on Iowa Western Community College for an ICCAC dual.
