NO. 1 WARRIORS ROUT ELLSWORTH 50-6

Iowa Falls, IA – No. 1 nationally ranked Indian Hills Men's Wrestling cruised to its second Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) dual victory of the year with a convincing 50-6 victory at Ellsworth Community College on Wednesday night. The Warriors move to 2-0 in dual action on the year.

The Warriors took home nine of the 10 matchups on the night, securing a pair of falls, two tech falls, and a major decision, along with three forfeit victories. Indian Hills has now outscored its two ICCAC opponents on the year by a margin of 102-9. The Warriors have now won 12 consecutive ICCAC matchups dating back to the 2023-24 campaign.

Following two forfeit victories to open the night, sophomore Deontae Forest (Godfrey, IL/Alton), ranked No. 5 in the nation in both the preseason National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) and TheOpenMat 133lb rankings, scored an 18-0 tech fall at 141lbs. Forest picked up the victory in just 4:07 of mat time.

Sophomore Keaton Morton (Indianapolis, IN/Perry Meridian) earned his first dual victory of the year with a pin in 6:04 to push the Indian Hills lead to 23-0.

Sophomore All-American Shehabeldin Mohamed (Alexandria, Egypt/Smouha Military), ranked No. 2 in the NJCAA preseason polls at 149lbs, earned a 19-4 tech fall in the second period at 157lbs.

The Warriors earned forfeit wins at 165lbs and 174lbs before freshman Johnathan Clohecy (Sumterville, FL/The Villages), ranked No. 6 in TheOpenMat 184lb ranks, scored his second dual fall of the year while No. 2 nationally ranked Naasir Edmonds (Virginia Beach, VA/Landstown) scored a 15-3 tech fall at 285lbs in the closing bout to cap the night for the Warriors.

Indian Hills is back in action Friday night for its home opener vs. No. 11 nationally ranked North Idaho College. Action gets underway at 5:30 PM from the Multi-Purpose Building.

The Warriors will honor its 2025 NJCAA National Championship team prior to the match.
