Centerville, IA – The nationally ranked Indian Hills Men's and Women's Wrestling squads return to the mat with an action-packed lineup of duals at the Multi-Purpose Building on the Indian Hills Community College Centerville campus.

The Indian Hills Men's and Women's Wrestling squads will welcome conference foe North Iowa Area Community College to the Multi-Purpose Building Wednesday night for an ICCAC doubleheader dual before the men take on Southwestern Michigan College in a nonconference matchup Thursday night.

WOMEN'S NOTES

• Indian Hills heads into Wednesday night's conference clash with a 1-1 dual record, including a 1-0 mark in ICCAC action.
• The Warriors are currently ranked No. 2 in the latest The Open Mat Team Dual rankings and No. 1 in The Open Mat Team Tournament rankings.
• Through two duals, the Warriors are averaging 36.0 team points with six falls and one tech fall.
• Indian Hills is represented individually in the national rankings in 10 of the 11 weight classes, including five with multiple athletes ranked.
• Three individuals - Nevaeh Hayden (No. 1), Paola Rodriguez (No. 5), and Ariah Mervilus (No. 8) are represented in the national pound-for-pound rankings

MEN'S NOTES

• The Warriors enter the week with an undefeated dual record at 3-0, claiming the top spot in the NJCAA and The Open Mat Team Tournament rankings, while earning the No. 2 spot in The Open Mat Team Dual rankings.
• Indian Hills has outscored its three opponents 134-15 on the year, including two duals with at least 50 team points.
• Sophomore Andrew Marquez (197lbs) is the lone undefeated defending national champion in the NJCAA through the month of November.
• Freshman Jahkari Clark has soared in the national rankings. The freshman, who leads the Warriors with 12 wins on the year, ranks No. 2 in the latest The Open Mat rankings at 149lbs.
• Four different individuals boast at least 10 wins so far on the year - Clark, Ashton Grace, Olli Webb, and Shehabeldin Mohamed.

SCOUTING THE TROJANS (WOMEN)

• The Trojans are off to a 1-1 start in dual action this year, earning a 47-6 win over Southeastern before falling 37-14 to Iowa Lakes in a pair of ICCAC matchups.
• NIACC claims four individuals in The Open Mat national rankings, led by Gerladine Honore, ranked No. 5 at 145lbs.
• The Trojans placed 15th overall at last year's national championships with one All-American honoree.
• Indian Hills and NIACC both competed at the Luther Hill Invitational on November 1 in Indianola, IA with the Warriors capturing all three victories (Evy Marlin, Jasmine Wolfe, and Kaylea Beauchamp).
• Indian Hills is 4-0 all-time vs. the Trojans in ICCAC duals, outscoring NIACC 174-29.
• NIACC is led by head coach Basil Minto in his fourth season at the helm of the program.

SCOUTING THE TROJANS (MEN)

• NIACC heads into Wednesday night's clash with a 2-0 dual record with both victories coming in ICCAC action - 56-0 over Southeastern and 26-18 vs. Iowa Lakes.
• The Trojans boast just one returning national qualifier from a year ago in sophomore Alejandro Rodriguez. 
• Indian Hills is 6-0 all-time vs. the Trojans, including four wins in top-20 nationally ranked matchups.
• Indian Hills has outscored NIACC by a margin of 178-78 during the six all-time meetings.
• NIACC is led by head coach Steve Kelly in his 17th season at the helm of the program.

SCOUTING THE ROADRUNNERS

Southwestern Michigan has proven to be one of the premiere wrestling programs in the NJCAA since its return to the mat in 2022, ending a 30-year hiatus for the Roadrunners.

• The Roadrunners have captured three consecutive MCCAA Championships and claimed the 2025 NJCAA Great Lakes District Championship a year ago.
• Southwestern Michigan placed 15th overall at last year's national championship in Council Bluffs, boasting two NJCAA All-Americans.
• The Roadrunners return three national qualifiers from last year - Santana Ramon (125lbs), Kaden Lapaugh (133lbs), and Dayveon Rupert (157lbs).
• Southwestern Michigan is 2-1 in duals this year, with wins over Henry Ford Community College (MI) and NJCAA-preseason No. 14 Harper College (IL).
• While Thursday night marks the first all-time dual between the two powerhouse programs, Indian Hills sophomore Gavyn Whitehead earned a win in the semifinal round of the 2025 national championship over Southwestern Michigan's Cody Klinger on his way to the national title.
• Southwestern Michigan is coached by former Roadrunner and NJCAA national qualifier Todd Hesson, in his fourth season at the helm of the program.
• The Roadrunners will be the first program from the Eastern Time Zone that Indian Hills has matched up with in program history.

WHAT'S NEXT

The Warrior women will head to the Doane Conner / Oppenheim Open in Crete, NE on Friday while the men close out the first half of the year at the annual Art Kraft Memorial Tournament in River Grove, IL on December 13.
