THE OPEN MAT NATIONAL RANKINGS - DEC. 18
Centerville, IA – Heading into the holiday break, the Indian Hills Men's Wrestling squad earned a number of impressive marks in the latest The Open Mat national rankings. The Warriors remain No. 1 in the nation in the Team Tournament ratings and No. 2 overall in the Team Dual poll.
The Warriors boast a 5-0 team dual record to coincide with a number of strong showings at open tournaments, including its most recent run at the prominent Art Kraft Memorial Tournament in River Grove, IL. Indian Hills walked away from the Art Kraft Memorial with six individual champions.
In total on the year, the Warriors have outscored their opponents 208-28 on the year, having scored no less than 31 team points through each of the first five duals on the year.
Along with the Warriors' team rankings, Indian Hills placed an individual in each of the 10 weight classes in the individual national poll, including three Warriors ranked No. 1 in their respective class.
Indian Hills placed three individuals in the top-10 of the national pound-for-pound rankings as defending national champions Andrew Marquez (Rock Island, IL/Rock Island) at 197lbs and Gavyn Whitehead (New Castle, IN/New Castle) at 141bs sit atop the ratings at No. 1 and No. 2 overall in the country, respectively. Both individuals are ranked No. 1 in their respective weight class.
Sophomore All-American Mohamed Tarek Abdelhady (Alexandria, Egypt/Sports Military School) also checked into the national pound-for-pound rankings at No. 7 overall and No. 1 in the nation at 165lbs.
Freshman Charlie Dykes (Kingsville, MO/Lee's Summit North) continued to surge in the national poll, climbing two spots to No. 2 in the nation at 125lbs. Fellow freshman Olli Webb Tunnel Hill, GA/Southeast Whitfield) jumped to No. 4 at 133lbs followed by rookie Jahkari Clark (Des Moines, IA/West Des Moines Valley) who held steady at No. 2 in the 149lb poll.
Returning All-American Shehabeldin Mohamed (Alexandria, Egypt/Smouha Military) held strong at No. 5 at 157lbs while sophomore All-American Cinsere Clark (Des Moines, IA/West Des Moines Valley) earned the No. 2 overall spot at 174lbs after previously checking in at No. 2 in the 165lb ratings.
Freshman Johnathan Clohecy's strong start to his inaugural year continued as the rookie maintained his spot at No. 4 in the 184lbs ratings. Sophomore All-American Naasir Edmonds (Virginia Beach, VA/Landstown) rounded out the individual rankings at No. 5 in the 285lb standings.

The Warriors now head into the holiday break and will return to action Sunday, January 11 at the Missouri Baptist Open in St. Louis, MO.
