NJCAA NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP BRACKETS
Centerville, IA – For the first time in program history, the Indian Hills Men's Wrestling squad saw all 10 of its national championship qualifiers earn a top-10 seed as the official brackets have been unveiled. The Warriors will head to Council Bluffs, IA March 6-7 for the 2026 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) National Championship at the Mid-America Center.
The Warriors, who captured their second consecutive NJCAA North Central District Championship, boasted 10 top-10 seeds in their respective brackets, including eight individuals with top-five seeds.
Sophomore Gavyn Whitehead (New Castle, IN/New Castle), the defending 141lb NJCAA National Champion, headlined the group with the No. 1 overall seed, just the fifth No. 1 seed in program history, and the first at 141lbs.
Andrew Marquez (Rock Island, IL/Rock Island), the defending 197lb National Champion, earned the No. 3 overall seed in the 197lb bracket. Freshman Jahkari Clark (Des Moines, IA/West Des Moines Valley), the 2026 Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Wrestler of the Year, will enter the tournament as the No. 3 seed at 149lbs. Returning All-American Mohamed Tarek Abdelhady (Alexandria, Egypt/Sports Military School) also earned the No. 3 overall seed in the 165lb bracket.
Indian Hills, the defending NJCAA National Champions and ranked No. 1 overall in the nation heading into the tournament, will send six returning All-Americans to compliment four newcomers to the field.
