Adam Fahs was named the Head Assistant Coach of the Indian Hills Men's and Women's Wrestling teams in August 2022 before becoming the Head Assistant of the men's program at the start of the 2024-25 season.
An instrumental member of the staff, Fahs helped guide the men's program to national prominence in 2024-25 as the Warriors captured their first-ever team national title at the NJCAA Men's Wrestling National Championship. The Warriors set a new NJCAA record with 180.0 team points while winning the tournament by 40.5 total points. The program saw its first-ever individual national champions in Gavyn Whitehead (141lbs) and Andrew Marquez (197lbs).
The 2024-25 season saw a number of impressive feats, including an undefeated dual record, a regular season ICCAC title, and a NJCAA North Central District Championship. Academically, the Warriors boasted the second-highest team GPA in the nation to earn NWCA and NJCAA Academic Team of the Year honors while earning one College Sports Communicator Academic All-American (Jaquan East), 11 NWCA Scholar All-American, and six NJCAA All-Academic selections.
The 2023-24 season, Fahs helped guide both the men's and women's teams to another dominant showing on the national landscape. The women's program captured its fourth consecutive national title while the men's side placed seventh overall.
In his first full season with the Warriors, Fahs helped lead the Indian Hills Women's Wrestling program to the first-ever NJCAA National Championship, four individual national champions, and 17 NJCAA All-Americans. On the men's side, the Warriors placed ninth overall at the national tournament along with four NJCAA All-Americans and a runner-up finish in the heavyweight division. Collectively, the Warrior programs earned 16 NWCA Scholar All-American awards and eight NJCAA All-Academic selections.
Fahs came to Indian Hills with a strong background of coaching within the NJCAA and the ICCAC. Fahs spent two seasons as the assistant wrestling coach at perennial national contender Ellsworth Community College before being elevated to the interim head coach position. Under Fahs’ guidance, the Panthers placed fifth overall at the NJCAA National Championship with six All-Americans and 10 national qualifiers in 2020.
Following his time at Ellsworth, Fahs served as the assistant wrestling coach at North Iowa Area Community College where the Trojans placed fifth at the 2022 national championship. The Trojans earned two individual national champions and eight All-Americans during Fahs’ campaign in Mason City.
Fahs previously coached under current Indian Hills head coach Cole Spree at Ellsworth while Spree served as the head coach of the Panthers. Prior to Ellsworth, Fahs served as the Director of Wrestling at Next Level Performance from 2015-2019, coaching 10 national All-Americans.
Fahs received his bachelor’s degree in Fitness & Recreation from Indiana Institute of Technology where he was a two-time national qualifier for the men’s wrestling program.
Fahs and his wife, Courtney, have one daughter, Ivy.
