NJCAA DI WOMEN'S SOCCER POLL - WEEK 2
Ottumwa, IA – Riding a four-match winning streak, the Indian Hills Women's Soccer squad climbed to No. 19 in the latest National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) DI Women's Soccer poll, released Monday afternoon. The Warriors move up one spot from last week's poll.
The Warriors extended their winning streak to four matches with a 4-0 shutout of Western Iowa Tech Community College on the road Sunday afternoon. The win pushed the Warriors to 4-1-0 overall on the year with the team's lone loss coming against No. 5 nationally ranked Navarro College (TX) in the season opener.
The Warriors have now been ranked in consecutive polls for the first time since the final two rankings of the 2021 regular season.
The Warriors are joined by fellow Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) foe Iowa Western Community College in the national rankings who checked in at No. 9 this week. Daytona State College (FL) held strong at No. 1 followed by Arizona Western College, Salt Lake Community College (UT), and Seminole State College (OK) to round out the top-five.
Indian Hills currently ranks 16th in the nation with 16 goals on the year while sophomore Arnicka Louis (Castries, Saint Lucia/Sir Ira Simmons) is tied for ninth in the NJCAA with 14 points followed by sophomore Kiara Levac (Sudbury, Canada/E.S.C. I'Horizon) who is tied for 11th overall in the nation with 13 points.
Indian Hills returns to action September 10 in a matchup witH Iowa Lakes Community College at the IHCC Soccer Complex in Ottumwa. Wednesday's matchup is part of a doubleheader with the Indian Hills Men's Soccer squad which kicks off at 3:30 PM.
