Ottumwa, IA – The No. 19 nationally ranked Indian Hills Women's Soccer squad swept the weekly Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Athlete of the Week honors after pitching a shutout in its lone matchup last week.
Freshmen Ella Forsyth (Grimes, IA/Dallas Center-Grimes) and Annabelle Combes (Valence, France/Tezenas du Montcel) were honored by the conference office Tuesday after the Warriors blanked Western Iowa Tech Community College 4-0 on the road Sunday afternoon. Forsyth was honored as the league's top offensive performer while Combes landed her second ICCAC DI Women's Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week award.
Forsyth put together her strongest performance of the season in the win over the Comets Sunday, tallying a goal and two assists in the victory. Forsyth was credited with the game-winning goal before adding assists on the team's final two goals late in the second half. The freshman has now tallied six points (2g, 2a) on the year.
Combes lands her second consecutive ICCAC DI Women's Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week honor after managing the Indian Hills defense from the back. Combes helped the Warriors pitch their third shutout of the year with the win over the Comets.
Next up for Indian Hills is a matchup against Iowa Lakes Community College Wednesday afternoon in Ottumwa. Kick-off is set for 1:00 PM which will be followed by the second atch of the day between the Indian Hills Men's Soccer squad and Iowa Lakes.
