NO. 19 WARRIORS PUSH WIN STREAK TO SEVEN

Belleville, IL – The No. 19 nationally ranked Indian Hills Women's Soccer team secured its seventh consecutive victory with a 3-0 shutout over Southwestern Illinois Community College on Sunday. The Warriors improve to 7-1-0 overall on the year, the most wins in the nation.

The Warriors' seven-game win streak is the longest for the program since the team won 15 consecutive matches to open the 2021 season. During the team's winning streak, the Warriors have now pitched five shutouts while outscoring their opponents 26-2.

Sophomore Ella Forsyth (Grimes, IA/Dallas Center-Grimes) scored a goal for the fourth consecutive game while fellow sophomore Kiara Levac (Sudbury, Canada/E.S.C. I'Horizon) found the back of the net twice to keep the Warriors' streak alive. Sophomore Arnicka Louis (Castries, Saint Lucia/Sir Ira Simmons) was credited with a pair of assists in the win.

Freshman keeper Annabelle Combes (Valence, France/Tezenas du Montcel) was credited with her seventh win in goal for the Warriors after making four saves on the day. Combes now leads the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) with seven victories on the year.

Offensively, Louis now ranks sixth in the NJCAA with both 20 points and eight goals on the year. Levac ranks ninth nationally with 18 points while Forsyth has surged into the top-20 in the nation with 15 points after tallying 13 points in the team's last four outings.

Louis and Levac teamed up with Forsyth in the first two minutes of play on Sunday to put the Warriors on the board early. Louis' final touch found a streaking Forsyth who buried a shot from close range in the box. The Warriors doubled their lead in the 26th minute as Louis and Nana Tanikawa (Kawasaki, Japan/Takatsu) assisted on Levac's first goal of the contest. Indian Hills put the game out of reach in the 51st minute as Momoka Kinoshita (Kagawa, Japan/Kagawa Nishi) assisted on Levac's sixth goal of the year.
