Ottumwa, IA – For the second consecutive week, sophomore Ella Forsyth (Grimes, IA/Dallas Center-Grimes) of the No. 12 nationally ranked Indian Hills Women's Soccer squad has been named the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) DI Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
Forsyth powered the offense to lead Indian Hills to an undefeated week on the pitch last week. The Warriors secured three victories last week to run its winning streak to seven matches, the longest streak in the nation. Indian Hills knocked off Iowa Lakes Community College at home 4-0 before dropping No. 16 Lewis & Clark Community College (IL) 4-1 and Southwestern Illinois Community College (IL) 3-0, both on the road.
Forsyth continued a solid stretch of play, scoring a goal in each match last week to extend her streak to four games. The sophomore tallied a pair of goals in the win over Iowa Lakes before adding a goal and an assist vs. Lewis & Clark. Forsyth added the eventual game-winning goal in the win over Southwestern Illinois.
On the year, Forsyth has tallied six goals and three assists for a total of 15 points which currently ranks in the top-20 in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA).
Originally scheduled to play Illinois Central Community College on the road this week, the match with the Cougars has been cancelled. Next up for Indian Hills is a home date with Lincoln Trail College (IL) at 3:30 PM on Saturday afternoon.
