Ottumwa, IA – In a week that saw the Indian Hills Women's Soccer squad crack the top-10 of the national poll for the first time since 2021, the Warriors were honored with a pair of weekly accolades for their performance on the field.
Sophomore Kiara Levac (Sudbury, Canada/E.S.C. I'Horizon) was named the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) DI Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week while sophomore Annabelle Combes (Valence, France/Tezenas du Montcel) was named the ICCAC DI Women's Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week, announced by the conference office on Tuesday afternoon.
The duo helped lead the Warriors to a lopsided victory in its lone match last week, a 7-0 shutout of Lincoln Trail College (IL) in Ottumwa. Levac tallied four points on a goal and two assists while Combes stood tall in net to aid in the shutout for the Warriors.
Levac collects her first-career ICCAC honor after producing all four points in the opening half of play against the Statesmen. The sophomore now leads the ICCAC with eight points on the year while her 22 points rank 11th overall in the nation. Levac also climbed to 12th all-time at Indian Hills with 14 career goals.
Combes collected her eighth win of the year, the most in the nation this season with a clean sheet vs. Lincoln Trail. The freshman lowered her season goals against average to 0.48 on the year, the lowest mark in the ICCAC. As a team, the Warriors now rank 13th nationally with a team goals against average of 0.44.
Combes has now garnered three ICCAC DI Women's Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week honors this year.
Next up for the Warriors is a trip to Council Bluffs, IA to take on No. 10 nationally ranked Iowa Western Community College in an ICCAC matchup October 1. Action from the Wiebe Complex gets underway at 3:00 PM.
