ROSE EARNS SECOND ICCAC WEEKLY HONOR

Ottumwa, IA – For the second time this season, freshman standout Cindy Rose (Brown's Town, Jamaica/Holmwood Technical) of the Indian Hills Women's Track & Field squad has been named the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Indoor Track Athlete of the Week, announced by the league office on Tuesday.

Rose strung together a pair of dominant performances on the track at two separate events last week. The freshman placed third overall in the women's 800-meter run at the Cyclone Open in Ames, IA with a school record effort before guiding the 4x400-meter relay squad to a fourth-place finish at the Larry Wieczorek Invitational in Iowa City, IA on Saturday.

Rose cruised to a new program mark in the 800m on Friday at Iowa State University, clocking in with a time of 2:09.67. The mark surpassed former national champion and current assistant coach Aliyah Simmons' previous school record of 2:10.55.

Rose's mark in the 800m not only set a new school record, but is now the 11th-best all-time, all-conditions performance in National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) history, becoming just the 11th individual to break 2:10.00 in the event.

Rose and the Warriors followed up with a strong showing at the Larry Wieczorek Invitational on Saturday, posting a time of 3:48.61 to place fourth overall as the top junior college squad. The quartet's mark was just 1.04 off of the current school record.

Indian Hills returns to action this weekend at the Washburn Open in Topeka, KS, home to the 2026 NJCAA Indoor National Championship. Action gets underway Friday.
