Hobbs, NM – The Indian Hills Women's Track & Field squad brought home a pair of All-American performances at the 2026 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) DI Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships at the Ross Black Field of Champions in Hobbs, NM. As a team, the Warriors placed 19th overall.
Freshman standout Cindy Rose (Brown's Town, Jamaica/Holmwood Technical) guided the Warriors at the national meet, playing a part in both All-American efforts. The freshman brought home a silver medal in the women's 800-meter run before leading the women's 4x800-meter relay squad to a fourth-place finish with a school record mark.
In total, the Warriors produced eight top-15 performances.
Rose starred in the 800m run for the Warriors with an impressive mark of 2:13.93, the fastest 800m time at an outdoor national championship for the program. The sophomore finished as the national runner-up to earn a spot on the podium.
Rose anchored the 4x800m relay alongside teammates Rebecca Duran (El Paso, TX/Chapin), Abby George (Albia, IA/Albia), and Tiffani Koonce (Prairie City, IA/Prairie City-Monroe) with an All-American performance. The quartet produced a school record time of 9:13.64 to become the first 4x800m relay group to earn All-American honors in program history.
Sophomore Alexa Zanders (Waterloo, IA/Waterloo West) earned a 10th place finish in the women's 400m run with a time of 55.63. Koonce, the first Warrior to compete in the 3,000m steeplechase since 2017, placed 10th overall with a mark of 12:39.61.
The women's 4x100m relay squad of Ida Smith (Miami, FL/Miami Northwestern), Ja'kayla Milton (Miami Gardens, FL/Miami Carol City), Promise Zandy (Des Moines, IA/Roosevelt) and Nathanaelle Bien-Aime (Miami, FL/North Miami) placed 111th overall for the Warriors while Smith added a 12th place showing in the 100m dash.
Freshman Unique Redmond (Niceville, FL/Niceville) highlighted the Warriors in the field with a 15th place finish in the long jump with a distance of 5.58m.
