USTFCCCA TFRI NATIONAL POLL - WEEK 1
Ottumwa, IA – The Indian Hills Women's Track & Field squad, fresh off a pair of strong showings on the track over the weekend, checked in at No. 6 in the initial United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Poll, released Tuesday afternoon.
The Warriors, who were ranked No. 18 in the nation in the final poll of the 2025 campaign, soared to No. 6 to open the year with an initial rating score of 177.44. The Warriors are also ranked No. 3 in the latest USTFCCCA Midwest Region rankings.
Indian Hills currently boasts two No. 1 nationally ranked event squads – the women's 4x400-meter relay group consisting of Nyla Blackmon (__), Cindy Rose (__), Alexa Zanders (_) and Abby George (Albia, IA/Albia) while Rose leads the No. 1 ranked 800-meter squad. Rose, this week's Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Athlete of the Week, posted the 11th fastest all-time, all-conditions 800m mark in National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) history on Friday at the Cyclone Open with a school record mark of 2:09.67.
As a program, the Warriors currently claim seven top-five nationally ranked event squads.
The No. 6 rank as a program is tied for the second-highest ranking in school history. The 2025 squad checked into the polls at No. 6 while the 2022 squad earned the program's highest ranking of all-time at No. 4.
Indian Hills returns to action this weekend at the Washburn Open in Topeka, KS, home to the 2026 NJCAA Indoor National Championship. Action gets underway Friday.
