ROSE LEADS WARRIORS AT INDOOR NATIONALS

Topeka, KS – The Indian Hills Women's Track & Field squad earned a pair of All-American honors at the 2026 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Indoor National Championship at the Washburn Indoor Athletic Facility. As a team, the Warriors placed 20th overall.

Freshman standout Cindy Rose (Brown's Town, Jamaica/Holmwood Technical) continued an unprecedented run to start her collegiate career with the Warriors. Rose placed third overall in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:12.54 to earn a spot on the podium. Rose's performance is the second-highest finish in the event in school history, and just the second 800m All-American at Indian Hills.

Rose earned a second All-American honor after leading the Distance Medley Relay squad to a seventh-place finish with a time of 12:14.49. Rose was joined by teammates Alexa Zanders (Waterloo, IA/Waterloo West), Abby George (Albia, IA/Albia), and Rebecca Duran (El Paso, TX/Chapin) to become the highest finishing DMR squad in school history.

Ross, George, Zanders, and Nyla Blackmon (Memphis, TN/Southwind) also posted a 10th place finish in the 4x400m Relay with a time of 3:50.47 to finish just outside of All-American honors.

Sophomore Tiffani Koonce (Prairie City, IA/Prairie City-Monroe) placed 13th and 14th overall in the 3,000m run and 5,000m run, respectively.

Freshman Unique Redmond (Niceville, FL/Niceville) led the Warriors in the field events, placing 12th overall in the long jump and 16th overall in the high jump.

The Warriors will now turn their attention to the outdoor season, which opens up March 26-27 with the WashU Distance Carnival in St. Louis, MO.
