NJCAA TEAM RANKINGS | NJCAA INDIVIDUAL RANKINGS | THE OPEN MAT RANKINGS
Centerville, IA – The Indian Hills Women's Wrestling squad maintained its spot at the top of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Women's Wrestling poll, announced by the national office Monday morning.
The Warriors, who boast a 9-2 overall dual record, including a 4-1 mark in Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) action, saw 15 individuals ranked in the latest national poll. Indian Hills claimed four individuals ranked No. 1 in their respective weight class.
The Warriors' four No. 1 nationally ranked individuals in the NJCAA polls are sophomore Angelica Vicente Gonzalez (Cidra, Puerto Rico/Eugenio Guerra Cruz) at 124lbs, sophomore Genesis Gilmore (Clarksville, TN/Montgomery Central) at 145lbs, freshman Paola Rodriguez (Vega Baja, Puerto Rico/Rosalina C. Martinez) at 160lbs, and freshman Nevaeh Hayden (Tulsa, OK/Union) at 180lbs.
Indian Hills held its spot at No. 1 in the team rankings ahead of No. 2 Carl Albert State College (OK), No. 3 Snow College (UT), No. 4 Umpqua Community College (OR), and No. 5 Southeast Community College (NE). Fellow ICCAC members Iowa Western Community College and Iowa Central Community College checked in at No. 6 and No. 7, respectively, while North Iowa Area Community College rounded out the top-10 at No. 10.
The Warriors close out the ICCAC regular season dual slate Thursday night with a trip to Iowa Lakes Community College in Estherville, IA at 6:00 PM.
