THE OPEN MAT NATIONAL RANKINGS - DEC. 18
Centerville, IA – 15 members of the Indian Hills Women's Wrestling squad checked into the latest The Open Mat national rankings, announced Thursday afternoon. As a team, the Warriors are ranked No. 1 in the nation in the Team Tournament ratings and No. 2 overall in the Team Dual poll.
Defending national champion Nevaeh Hayden (Tulsa, OK/Union) held onto the top spot as the No. 1 nationally ranked pound-for-pound wrestler in the country. Hayden, ranked No. 1 at 160lbs, is one of three individuals in the top-10 of the national pound-for-pound rankings for the Warriors, the most of any team in the nation.
Joining Hayden is sophomore Paola Rodriguez (Vega Baja, Puerto Rico/Rosalina C. Martinez), ranked No. 7 in the overall pound-for-pound rankings and No. 1 in the 180lb weight class. Fellow sophomore and defending national champion Ariah Mervilus (Virginia Beach, VA/Landstown) is ranked No. 9 overall in the nation and No. 1 at 110lbs.
The Warriors placed at least one individual in all 11 weight classes.

The Warriors now head into the holiday break and will return to action January 14 for an ICCAC dual at Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo, IA.
