Hays, KS – The No. 9 nationally ranked Indian Hills Men's Soccer squad suffered a 2-1 loss on the road to No. 13 ranked Dodge City Community College (KS). The Warriors fall to 6-3-3 overall on the year.
Freshman Sakutaro Matsuura (Aichi, Japan/Kaishu Gakuen JSC) scored the Warriors' lone goal, a strike in the 35th minute on assists from Leo Jaukovic (London, England/Fulham Boys School) and Adem Arous (Lyon, France/Moulin de Preuilly). The goal evented the match at 1-1 after the Conquistadors struck in the 25th minute, but Dodge City provided the go-ahead goal seconds before the halftime horn sounded.
Neither side was able to find the back of the net in a deadlocked second half as the Warriors' fell in just the second all-time meeting with Dodge City.
The Warriors tallied a game-high 14 shots on the day while freshman keeper Matteo Malaguti (Mantova, Italy/Liceo Isabella d'este Mantova) stopped three shots in net.
Indian Hills is back in action Wednesday, October 15 against No. 1 nationally ranked Iowa Western Community College at the IHCC Soccer Complex in Ottumwa, IA.
