WARRIORS, COUGARS DRAW 1-1 ON SOPHOMORE DAY

Ottumwa, IA – No. 10 nationally ranked Indian Hills Men's Soccer earned a 1-1 draw with No. 11 ranked Illinois Central Community College at the IHCC Soccer Complex on Tuesday. The Warriors move to 7-3-4 overall on the year.

The Warriors secured their seventh result against a nationally ranked team this year. Indian Hills moves to 4-2-1 all-time vs. the Cougars.

Indian Hills outshot Illinois Central 12-6 on the day, including an 8-3 advantage in shots on goal. The Warriors earned five corner kicks to just two for the Cougars.

Illinois Central surprised the Warriors out of the gate with a quick score just 4:01 into the contest. Indian Hills responded five minutes later as sophomore Fabian Arroyo (Ciudad Quesada, Costa Rica/Liceo San Carlos) converted a penalty kick for the equalizer.

Despite a dominant presence in the Warriors' offensive zone throughout the match, Indian Hills was unable to find the go-ahead score. A late scored in the closing minutes of the second half was waved off due to an Indian Hills offside call as the match ended in the 1-1 draw.

Freshman goalkeeper Matteo Malaguti (Mantova, Italy/Liceo Isabella d'este Mantova), this week's Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Athlete of the Week, stopped two shots in net for the Warriors to earn the result.
