Ottumwa, IA – The Indian Hills Men's Track & Field squad is in full swing in its indoor season. Through five meets this year, the Warriors boast a No. 4 national ranking along with a bevy of individual rankings.

The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced its Week 2 rankings on Wednesday, and the Warriors held strong at No. 4 in the national poll for the second consecutive week. The Warriors sit behind top-ranked South Plains College (TX), Iowa Western Community College, and Iowa Central Community College. In the latest USTFCCCA Midwest Regional Ranking, the Warriors sit at No. 2 with a Track & Field Rating Index of 665.14. Iowa Central holds the top spot in the regional poll.

The national ranking is the highest in program history for the Warriors who have continued to ascend to national prominence in recent years.

On the individual events side, the Warriors rank inside the top-10 in seven separate categories, including five second-place marks. The Warriors have dominated the sprint and middle-distance events on the year, highlighted by a series of impressive performances.

In the men's 60-meter dash, Aurel Tchanbi (Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire/College Heleis) has led the way and ranks eighth in the nation with a season-best time of 6.75. Travon Chance's (San Antonio, TX/Warren High School) 6.76 mark ranks ninth in the country. As a team, the Warriors rank second overall with an average time of 6.78. In total, seven Warriors rank inside the top-40 individual efforts across the nation.

Kendrick Winfield's (Louisville, KY/Louisville Male) 21.45 time in the men's 200-meter ranks as the fourth-best all conditions mark on the year while Tchanbi's 21.47 is the 5th best mark. The Warriors' team average of 21.54 in the event is the second-best average in the nation.

Indian Hills also ranks second in the men's 600-meter event behind Rivaldo Marshall's (Kingston, Jamaica/Calabar) school record time of 1:18.56, the third-best time in the country. Freshman Roneldo Rock (St. Joseph, Barbados/Grantley Adams Memorial) boasts the 10th best time at 1:20.75.

Marshall also owns the school record in the 800-meter event with a time of 1:51.53, the third-best mark nationally. Aniey Akok (Ames, IA/Ames) ranks fifth nationally with a time of 1:53.71.

Marshall owns the No. 1 time in the nation in the men's 1000-meter run with a time of 2:27.92, set at the Mel Tjeerdsma Classic in Maryville, MO on Dec. 4. Akok's time of 2:30.05 is the fourth-fastest mark nationally this season as the Warriors rank second as a team with an average time of 2:31.44.

The Warriors return to competition at the two-day Bearcat Open this weekend in Maryville, MO.
