Ottumwa, IA – Freshman Domictress Robinson (Jacksonville, FL/Jean Ribault) of the Indian Hills Men's Track and Field squad has been named the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Athlete of the Week after a strong performance at the Ichabod Invitational in Topeka, KS.
Competing in a pair of events over the weekend, Robinson starred in the 60-meter and 200m dash events as the Warriors gear up for the upcoming National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region 11 Indoor Track & Field Championships in Storm Lake, IA February 21-22.
Robinson took home a runner-up finish in the men's 200m dash with a time of 21.06, the sixth-fastest mark in the nation this year. Robinson currently ranks third overall in the NJCAA with a personal-best time of 21.02 on the year.
Robinson added an eight-place showing in the men's 60m dash with a time of 6.85 in a field of primarily four-year competitors.
Robinson and the Warriors will now turn their attention to the postseason with the upcoming region championship hosted by Buena Vista University.
